Frequent Asked QuestionsHow do I find you ?Easy take Mexico Hwy. I (which is the only paved road) South. From Ensenada you will drive about 2 hours. When you get to Colonia Vicente Guerrero at the stop light the only one in town. You will then drive 1 mile south and on the west side of the road on the slight hill you will see a Corona Beer sign and a Tecate Beer sign the road is just north of the propane plant. Turn on the dirt road and head west pass the first place and we are 1/2 mile in off the hwy. Continue almost in a straight path but you will curve slightly to the left ( do not try to go up the cement road) and follow west. We are quiet (most of the time) and very safe. We live on the property so someone is always here. I told you we were the friendliest on the Baja. If your are coming from the south then turn at the end of the propane plant. We are about 12 miles north of San Quintin. Just to everyone drive careful don't be in a hurry as everyone else in Mexico is in a hurry. Stay safe and enjoy your stay in Mexico . Where can I find a good margarita?Oh another easy one. With us. We have the best on the Baja. Just telling you the facts. Way back in 1982 Pablo started the best margarita in Mexico . Now Eddie and the crew have just improved on something already the best. When you pay for your lodging we will give you one with your dinner. If a margarita is not your cup of tea then we will give you a fresh lemonade or a cup of coffee with your dinner. Or heck your cup of tea. What do you do here?Hey some people like to just sit around and read. Listen to the birds. But if you love to fish this is the place. This is it. Surf fishing. If you fish off the surf you do not need a fishing license as long as you don't take more than 50 kilos a day. Some of the best surf fishing is just a mere 3 miles away. Our in house semi permanent resident Kenny and Nick could tell you where the best fishing is. They also have the best F.S. (fish stories). These guys go to the beach and just whistle to get the fish. Yup that just drive along the beach and the halibut, white sea bass, and perch just jump on shore for the taking. Some people go clamming we have awesome Pismo clams here. BUT the shell fish belongs to the Mexican Government. So it is illegal to take them. We have never had anyone from our park have any problem with the fish and game. The rule is take only what you can eat at a meal and take only the legal size abut 5 inches in size. When they are checking on the beach it is the same for the Mexican as for the visitor. But if you seen someone take more don't be like them. Who is Anna Marie?Anna Marie is the lady the song on the wall is dedicated to. Back in 1981 when we first came here to live. Kenny Johann and his wife Anna Marie had leased a piece of property with us in 1980. He and his wife wanted to retire here. When we started to remodel the storage room into the current restaurant Kenny had asked us if he could paint some murals on the walls. He also wanted to paint a very famous Spanish love song on the walls and dedicated to his beloved wife. This was her favorite song. Ken and his wife would take caravans south from Oregon to the tip of the Baja and back. They both loved it here and started to build their retirement home. So in 1980 when Anna Marie was not feeling well they headed for the boarder and home up to Oregon . Anna Marie was told that her illness was brain cancer. She passed away just a few months later. That song was painted on our wall in 1983 the year we opened the new restaurant. The song is Por Un Amor. Come in and see a little history of the Posada. Kenny never found another love. Kenny lived the song and join his beloved Anna Marie in 2003. We wanted to keep the song on the wall after we added our new banquet room. We wanted to keep the love for 2 high school sweethearts alive. This dedication will stay as long as we have this facility. Back to Top What is Posada? The word Posada means the Inn . This is the Inn of Don Diego. Don Diego was the first owner and the founder of the Posada. This was build in 1970 and opened by the time the Highway opened in 1972. This was the only R.V. Park for a few hundred miles. So come and stay at the Inn of Don Diego. We await your arrival. Back to Top When is the best time to stay?Oh now that is a really hard question. Really I think the answer to that would be EVERYDAY. Yup that is the right answer. Our weather is great pretty much all year long. The day time temperature in winter is low 60's to mid 60's. The night time temperature can get pretty cold. Maybe in the mid 40's low 50's. Sometimes we do get a frost and some rain. The spring and fall climates are about the same. Day time temperature mid 60's to mid 70's. The night time temperature is high 50's low 60's. The summer is the best it is in the low 70's to low 80's most days. The night time is really great just perfect for sleeping. No need for the nasty air condition here. We just have plenty of fresh air. Oh that is why people say we are the friendliest place on the Baja it's that clean air. Yup that's it. All that clean fresh air and that would make anyone friendly. That is why we have the friendliest customers all that clean air. So come and stay awhile and become one of the friendliest on the Baja. Back to Top |
